Problem: Square Enix wanted to prank its 10-million-strong player base with an April Fools stunt that felt authentic, playful, and shareable—something that would entertain both players and the press.

Solution: We created a fake app and tool that let players “harvest” in-game resources in the real world, parodying a certain popular AR game and every Silicon Valley startup cliché. The execution was slick enough to feel real, absurd enough to be hilarious, and perfectly in tune with the community.

Results: The gag was a hit, earning two W3 Silver Awards (Viral & Comedy Video) and generating widespread buzz among both players and gaming media.
